Caregiver Services

The Aging & Disability Resource Center is more than just a resource for older adults and people with disabilities.  We are also a valuable resource for caregivers, those who are providing care for a loved one.  Did you know that there are services that can help you to take time-off from caregiving?  We can tell you about services such as:

  • Adult Day Care

  • In-Home Care and Respite Services

  • Support Groups

*The Resource Center now has a comprehensive listing of area support groups available to you free of charge.  To request a copy, please contact the Resource Center directly, or send an e-mail to resourcecenter@gchsd.org

You can also call the Resource Center to obtain information on the National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP) which is a special program developed by the Older American’s Act.  NFCSP offers support services to family members who provide care for an elderly family member in the home.  Program services are designed to help caregivers with their sometimes-stressful daily caregiving responsibilities.  Caregivers can benefit from services such as: information and follow-up regarding services and resources, temporary respite, support groups, caregiver training and counseling services.  NFCSP even has funds available to provide supplemental services on a limited basis, such as chore services, homemaking and personal care.

For more information about the Green County Aging & Disability Resource Center, or to find out about services, resources and benefits available to you or a loved one, please call 608-328-9499 or toll-free 1-800-993-2040.  You may reach us by e-mail at resourcecenter@gchsd.org.   Resource Center staff are available from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.
